Learning From Shelly’s Mistakes

Shelly Midura cries during a City Council meeting because Mamma D called her “David Duke in a Dress”. At the moment of heartbreak, Shelly certianly had not drawn the lesson. When I ask my friends about it, their advice is, never let them see you cry.

Have I learned from Shelly’s mistakes? In tears, Shelly said “We need to put race beind us.” It must be hard for her to see how self-serving that sentiment is.

Update: Bart Everson corrects the course of events in the comments.

Update: This story about using MLK and Parks to sell pickups reminds me of the IG incident. If you don’t recall, she began by quoting King.

Mama D made Shelly cry, but the “David Duke in a dress” was between two other people out in the Jeff Parish busing controversy.

Personally I think we should all cry in public more often. But Shelly’s remark was off base.

It was the fact that vote for the ammendment broke across the racial lines that made shelly cry, not the retards brought in by thomas and carter to disrupt the meeting.

While I was disappointed that she cried it really hit home with me and made me realize what a joke Carter is. He’s no different than Thomas who is no different than Gusman who is no different Morial.

If you enable corruption you ARE corrupt. I dont care where you went to college or who your daddy is or if you’ve never drank alcohol.

    You. Are. Corrupt.

Midura is new at politics but she’s in earnest. She’ll toughen up as time goes on. Her problem? She wants a city united not divided. Imagine that.
