The Weekend Do Nothings
July 1st, 2007In in a lackadaze, as I am every weekend. I didn’t make big plans to work this weekend, but I don’t have any money, so I can’t go out as I usually do. I’ve got it in my head that I’m going to do some programming, but I don’t see that happening. In the future, I’m going to have to have my weekends much better specified if I expect to get anything done during them.

Hi, Alan–
Found your blog with the Google Reader search. You write just like you speak. Kinda eerie hearing that voice again after nearly seventeen (seventeen?) years. I’d send you a slice of Mineo’s if I could.
Here are two stories on New Orleans that ran on NPR, in case you missed them:
New Orleans’ New Inspector General Looks Ahead

New Orleans Do-It-Yourself Recovery

Could you have found a post that was more apropos to connect than this ridiculous bleat of weekend tedium? Are you still in Pittsburgh? There is only one place in New Orleans that serves pizza on par with Pittsburgh, or Detroit for that matter. Sugar Park in the Mairgny. Which is good, because otherwise I’d complain bitterly, as I always do, when someone makes me eat pizza in the South.
Of course, I love the food otherwise. Going to a community BBQ in Mid-City this evening.
