Interns, huh? I love interns. Just saw one of mine from when I worked at MN Center for Photography circa 2004, and she's running a gallery now (at a Baptist college, so no drinking, dancing or card playing, please!). I ran a huge open studio program with over 300 artists in DC, MD and VA as an innocent intern of twenty-two, back in the day.

But you're so right--politicians speak like job interviewers! My favorite story about this: my friend Galen was doing a phone interview for the engineering job he now has in Heidelberg, Germany, and thinking that he had NO chance to get it, answered something like "no comment" or "I pass" when asked about his greatest weakness. And got a call back with a job offer a few days later.

Screw behavioral interviewing AND Washington-speak. How about some no-nonsense English for a change?

Also, I'm stuck between two wikis. Instiki and Mediawiki. Something I mean to write about.

One of these days, when I'm in a job interview and they ask me what my greatest weakness is, I'm going to answer:

One word, interns.

Awesome. I really hate those "What is your best character?" questions. What the heck is any answer supposed to mean? That the person thinks they are able to condense their humanity into a sentence?
